Project Overview

Industry: Higher Education
Timeline: 4 weeks (2025)
My Role: Lead Designer
For the University of Alabama’s School of Leadership and Policy, I designed an institutional seal to represent a new academic entity rooted in tradition, scholarship, and forward-thinking leadership. As a foundational brand element, the seal needed to feel timeless and authoritative while establishing a distinct visual identity that could endure as the school continues to grow and evolve.
The design draws directly from Farrah Hall, the building that houses the school, incorporating a repeating pattern inspired by its distinctive window architecture to ground the mark in a physical sense of place. At the center, a torch serves as the primary symbol, representing leadership, guidance, and the pursuit of knowledge. By blending classical seal conventions with architectural references and clean, intentional symbolism, the final mark balances heritage and progress, creating a meaningful emblem that reflects both the academic rigor and aspirational mission of the School of Leadership and Policy.
